Detroit Electronic Music Festival has taken over Detroit with it's annual electronic dance music event every Memorial Day weekend since the year 2000! The festival has gone through many name changes through out it's run in downtown Detroit! The festival started off under the name of Detroit Electronic Music Festival from 2000-2002, Movement from 2003-2004, Fuse-In the year of 2005 and is currently known as Movement Electronic Music Festival, since 2006, each name shift represents a shift in festival management. However, all of these festivals continued the Detroit Electronic Music Festival tradition by showcasing performances by DJ's and musicians and also showcasing the progressive qualities of the culture surrounding electronic music. The festival is most commonly referred to as the DEMF festival among local Detroiters. This festival attracts the youth of Detroit, and even some of the older generations get into DEMF, too! DEMF is also the very first electronic music festival to be held in Detroit. Each year the festival takes place in Hart Plaza and it is noted as a landmark event that brought hundreds of people from all over the United States to celebrate Techno music in the city where it got it's start. After 2006, Movement Electronic Music Festival evolved into one of the world's largest electronic music festivals!

Detroit Electronic Music Festival will be held on May 23rd through May 25th, 2015. DEMF wanted to hold the festival in 2015 on fourth of July weekend, but due to unforeseen circumstances, they weren't able to have the festival on the holiday weekend. So, instead, they will have the festival on Memorial Day weekend. The 2014 festival saw over 107,000 attendees and had over 130 acts and stages in it's three day run at Hart Plaza during Memorial Day weekend. The year of the 2015 DEMF festival will one again be produced by Paxahau, who will celebrate the festivals tenth anniversary!

This annual three day event will celebrate Detroit's electronic music history. The festival takes place in Hart Plaza, aka, the iconic Detroit river front park. The festival will feature five outdoor technologically rich stages, more than 100 artists, a posh VIP setting which is located behind the main stage, free Wi-Fi, dozens of official and not so official after parties, several art displays to stimulate the senses and an interactive technology center which features the hottest gear in the electronic music industry. Over 107,000 patrons from all over the globe come to this festival each and every year. This festival is the perfect place for anyone who is a lover of electronic music.

Artists that have made their mark on the DEMF festival usually return for the next years festival. The artists that preform at the festival say that their favorite part of preforming at the festival is the reaction from the crowds. They love the people that love them, and always put on an amazing show.
