Commonwealth is a fairly new addition to the Birmingham restaurant scene, and we're sure glad that they've decided to put their stakes down here! This is a great, solid establishment for those who wish to eat some delicious food and enjoy some great coffee drinks. They have a great selection of coffee, espresso, and espresso drinks for all of those java heads out there. They offer a good selections of sandwiches and soups, making this a convenient spot as well. You won't pay over the top prices for a simple soup and sandwich, unlike other establishments in the area. Their grilled cheese sandwich paired with their tomato soup is one of the best combinations we've had in a while, and we visit a lot of restaurants! See what all the hype is about, and you won't be disappointed.

Tomatoes Apizza is serving up some amazing, you guessed it, pizza pies! If you find yourself in the area, do you a favor and stop by to get a taste of what they're serving up. They opened up in 1998, and have made quite a name for themselves in the pizza industry in the metro Detroit area. They offer Neopoliation style pizza that is set apart from others in that it has thin crust, simple ingredients, crispy shell and slight char. They use the freshest and best ingredients, making a true difference in the pies. They use imported pizza cheese and fresh oregano in all of their pizzas, baked on the brick with high heat. They brought the first coal-fire pizza overn to Michigan, making this place unique as well. You'll love all of their specialty pizzas and appetizers, as well as enjoying their amazing drink specials during the week. It's a good choice all around.
Toast Birmingham is one of two Michigan locations, its sister location in Ferndale. It's a fairly popular restaurant, sometimes patrons have to wait as much as 45 minutes, but we promise that it's truly worth it when the food rolls around! They have a great brunch during Sundays, you can't go wrong with it. They have an extensive list of breakfast/brunch drinks, including a Bloody Mary with bacon flavored vodka, and a tequila sunrise cocktail that is to die for. The veggie breakfast burrito is something made in heaven with how delicious is, we really couldn't get over it! The waitresses are always very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items for those who haven't been here before. All in all, this is a great choice for anyone looking for a breakfast that's a little out of the ordinary.
